Five new anesthesiologists join team at Red Deer Regional Health Centre
AHS says anesthesiologists are specialized medical doctors who are trained in anesthesiology, dedicated to pain relief and careful management of vital functions such as heart rate and breathing.
Based on the type of surgical procedure, anesthesiologists may administer regional anesthesia to numb a specific area of the body or general anesthesia to ensure the patient is fully unconscious throughout an operation.
“The arrival of these anesthesiologists marks a significant step in improving timely access to surgical and emergency care in our community,” said Dr. Adam Hall, Facility Medical Director at Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre. “Anesthesiologists are vital to ensuring procedures are safe and efficient, and their expertise will support our ongoing efforts to reduce wait times and improve patient outcomes across central Alberta.”
